Description

The City invites Bidders to submit a Selection Questionnaire for the provision of Values & Behaviors - Culture Development.

The City of London Corporation is a multi-faceted, unique, complex and diverse organisation and is at a pivotal point in its journey. In April 2024 it launched its five-year Corporate Plan, the organisation's first ever comprehensive People Strategy, and Equality Objectives. Our health and safety policy outlines the objectives to enable good management of health, safety, and statutory wellbeing risks and opportunities.

The aim of the People Strategy is to create an exceptional work environment over the next five years. This will be underpinned by personal and collective accountability resulting in excellent performance, equality, equity, diversity, and inclusion, as well as health and safety across the entire organisation. One of the programmes to be delivered will be an organisation wide initiative to co-create overarching values and behaviours that consider, retain, and respect our individual institutions' values. Alongside this a culture map analysing organisational maturity and next steps will be developed as part of the outputs with a focus on culture change, enabling our employees to establish City Corporation as a world-class organisation.

The City Corporation's People Strategy will deliver meaningful change over the next five years and by 2029 our people will:
- be supported, challenged, and motivated to do excellent work individually and
collaboratively with others to achieve exceptional outcomes.
- feel comfortable taking personal responsibility for their individual contributions while being seen as unique with individual and collective strengths and aspirations.
- experience and contribute to a culture where inclusive, equitable, values-led
leadership is consistently role-modelled across all levels.
- feel valued, rewarded, and recognised.
- know they are respected, physically and psychologically safe, included, and heard.
- be able to get on with work at hand without barriers to efficiency.

We wish to create values that articulate the beliefs and summary behaviours that take the City Corporation where it wants to go and a culture map that will support the organisation to do so and that includes all areas within our organisation. Values will provide the foundational elements needed to develop our culture and empower employees to work towards achieving our mission and Corporate Plan outcomes.
This work will also include the active engagement and application of these values for our Elected Members. The programme will include engagement that takes into account the diverse voices of our staff workforce of nearly 4,000 supporting a wide range of services and responsibilities, located within and outside the Square Mile, as well as our institutions and our elected Member community of 125.
