Description

Medway Council ('the Council') is seeking to procure the services of an experienced and suitably qualified Contractor to undertake roofing works required across its residential housing stock. The works are spread across various residential council housing 'general stock houses' within differing locations of Medway. The Council is targeting to have awarded the contract no later than 19th June 2017 with a subsequent onsite commencement date of 03rd July 2017. The estimated value of the whole works, should they be awarded as a single contract, ranges from ££270K - £300K.. The estimated Contract period will be for approx. 16 weeks. The council's requirement will be divided in to 2 lots to which contractors are encouraged to tender for individual contracts or tender for a combined offer. In each circumstance, contractors are to demonstrate value for money (discount) to the council especially where combined Lots are to be considered. Lot 1 - estimated value £170K Lot 2 - estimated value £110K The Council reserves the right to award all two Lots to a single contractor or split it into two separate contracts for two contractors; whichever the council considers to be value for money. The evaluation of the submission will be undertaken based on individual contract requirement and the result merged to offer increased benefits where there are proven synergies or shared benefits to be gained by the council. For the benefits of contract management two contracts will be signed whether all two projects are awarded to a single contractor as a combined bid or awarded to two different contractors as individual projects. . Variants bids shall be considered subject to a completion of the specified compliant tender. SCOPE OF WORKS, PRICING & SPECIFICATION The scope of works for this project includes but not limited to: Pitched roof tiling and associated works to residential council tenanted housing stock. The properties are two story with mainly up and over and gable end roofs. The tender includes for all associated and ancillary building works such as chimney stack and parapet wall re-pointing, loft insulation, upgrading of roof timbers etc. The contractors are to allow for pre commencement works such as testing for Asbestos containing materials and all other statutory compliance such as building regulations applications and notifications.
