Description

We are looking for an organisation to create a suite of dynamic and inspirational short films for use in the classroom by teachers and public speaking trainers.

The films will support the delivery of a national outreach programme for schools using the themes and issues raised by the Armada portrait of Elizabeth I as inspiration for public speaking.

The films will be developed in consultation with teachers and public speaking trainers from Speakers Trust and feature students, curators and artists discussing the themes of the portrait.

The films will:

•Complement a teaching framework and resources for teachers produced specifically for the project by Speakers Trust
•Include voices of young people from 6 pilot schools in 3 different regions: Essex, South Yorkshire and East Midlands
•Give a sense of the diversity of participants and the locations the project is taking place in
•Be a useful classroom resource, rather than a promotional piece
•Reflect the learning opportunities presented by the portrait
•Spark questions and discussion
•Demonstrate oracy skills and good practice in public speaking
•Acknowledge our funder, National Lottery Heritage Trust, in the credits

The films will be used as a practical teaching tool in the classroom by teachers and public speaking trainers and will also be used for:
•Internal audiences at RMG and Speakers Trust
•On the RMG website and partner website
•At end of project celebration events
•Reporting to the project funder

We anticipate the process to include briefing, creation of a narrative for each film in consultation with teachers and Speaker Trust, filming at RMG and at pilot schools and editing.
