Description

The successful supplier will be required to provide catering services for Caerleon Comprehensive School.

The contract covers the scope for the provision of all school catering services, which also includes all hospitality and free issue requirements.

The contract covers the scope for the provision of all school catering services, which also includes all hospitality and free issue requirements.

The duration of the contract being offered is 3 years commencing on 1.4.2019 and concluding on 31.3.2022, with the potential for an extension of up to a further 3 years, and will be on a guaranteed performance basis offering a fixed annual return to the Client.

The contract currently offers a financial return each year to the Client with all hospitality and free issues being charged at net food cost only.

It is expected that the successful supplier will have experience in the requirements of the Healthy Eating in Schools (nutritional standards and requirements) (Wales) Regulations 2013 - http://gov.wales/topics/educationandskills/schoolshome/foodanddrink/healthy-eating/?lang=en

We are seeking an experienced supplier who will bring innovation, forward thinking and experience to the school catering provision and will embrace the abundance of local Welsh suppliers for the provision of fresh produce to be utilised within the catering service.

All menus, signage, labels and marketing and merchandising information will need to be bi-lingual in nature at all times.

The current contract cash sales volumes are circa 200 000,00 GBP.

The contracting authority will not be liable for any costs incurred by those expressing an interest in tendering for this contract opportunity.

The contracting authority will consider variant bids, evaluating them (so far as the variant or the evaluation of the variant is in the opinion of the contracting authority practicable) on the same basis as a conforming bid, but shall not be obliged to accept any such bid in preference to a conforming bid even if the variant bid scores more highly. No variant will be considered unless the bidder simultaneously submits a conforming bid.
