Description
HSE is seeking to award an initial 3 year contract with the option of an extension up to a further 2 years, in yearly increments.
The main services required from the contractor are:
i. To set up a scheme to capture a representative sample of cases of pesticide and biocide exposures in the UK which result in the involvement of a medical professional (e.g. paramedic, GP or attendance at accident and emergency department). In particular the scheme should have the capacity to identify cases which are severe or lead to death.
ii. To obtain basic information on the patients in the cases such as approximate age, gender, pregnancy status.
iii. To identify information on the incident: including the pesticide or biocide active substance(s) involved; whether the product was for professional use only or for home and garden use; and if possible the circumstances of the incident.
