Description

Birmingham Adult Education Services (BAES) is moving all services where possible to an on premise solution. The scope of the tender is to provide the on premise solution. Hypervisor options can be proposed and should be costed accordingly per site. Microsoft licensing is outside scope of this project.

There are 10 sites in total connected via a 1GB link to the main production site. Connectivity to network should be 1GB or 10G SFP+. With centralised virtualisation comes the need to ensure reliability and availability, even in the event of hardware failure or during periods of maintenance, updates.

The BAES network infrastructure already includes features to provide automatic failover and multiple redundant/load balanced paths, and any server/storage/virtualised system would be expected to provide similar levels of assurance.
