Description

Ofwat has a number of key publications to be published each year to a challenging timetable. In particular, we are currently (2018-19) making decisions within our price review. One of the ways we regulate is to set the price, investment and service package that customers receive. This includes setting limits on the prices the companies can charge their customers. We currently carry out a review of these price limits every five years. This will need to be widely published to our Stakeholders and other interested parties in clear and easy to understand language.

The work shall be project based as commissioned by the Customer's Project Manager. The Supplier shall be given at least two working days' notice of the start of each project work unless agreed otherwise between the parties. This is a guide only and there may be occasions where less notice is given particularly where the project work is ad hoc (i.e. not identified as a specific project within this document). Where the work relates to Water 2020 draft methodology consultation and final methodology consultation then the Supplier shall operate on the basis of the information given in this document as notice.

The overall objectives of the project are:
Provide communications support to ensure completion and publication of PR19 initial assessment of business plans.
Provide communications support to ensure completion and publication of PR19 early draft determinations.
Provide communications support to ensure completion and publication of PR19 late draft determinations.
Provide communications support to ensure completion and publication of PR19 final determinations.

The scope of the project includes:
Collaborating with project manager and programme team to define scope of communications support required.
Agreeing production timetable
Providing copy, stylistic and developmental editing of Ofwat publications. This can include but is not restricted to correcting errors such as misspellings, typographical errors, miss-numbering or mislabelling, word usage, punctuation, identifying deviations, checking for conformity and consistency, and rewriting and restructuring text.
Using technical expertise and a wide range of composing and editing tools as required.
Working to Ofwat templates and guidelines. Our corporate visual identity guide outlines our visual style and approach.

The contract period is estimated to be 17 December 2018 - 31 March 2020.
The timescale for all project work (specified and ad hoc) is to be agreed between the parties.
