Description
For the hire of a 35T excavator (operated) with Rock Grab and the hire of a 25T excavator (operated) with Rock Grab for an approx. duration of 20no. weeks - hire commencement/delivery date 22/03/19.
The operated excavators shall be utilised at various stages of Rock Armour Works on the Marazion coastline in Longrock, Penzance Cornwall.
The operated excavators shall be required to take delivery, sort, stockpile, load and most importantly place approx. 12,700 tonnes of armour stone over a period of approx. 20no. weeks.
The excavators and rock grabs must be suitable for handling armour stone up to a maximum of 3 tonnes in weight.
Armour stone deliveries may amount to 400 tonnes per day, whilst 300 tonnes of armour stone must be placed along the coastline each day - to design detail and specification requirements.
All plant is to be converted to Bio-Oil prior to delivery.
A bunded fuel bowser shall be supplied by the hire company for the re-fuelling of the operated excavator(s).
Hire rates are to be per hour and include the provision of fuel.
Delivery and collection rates must be stated; Delivery Address: Longrock Car Park, Longrock, Penzance TR20 8HZ.
Site access is severely restricted and requires the presence of a COSS from Network Rail to enable delivery over a railway line - prior agreements for delivery will be required.
The CV's of the proposed plant operators, detailing any relevant Rock Armour experience, recent Rock Armour projects and qualifications relating to the Rock Armour works, shall be submitted with the plant rates.
The specification of the proposed plant shall be submitted within the tender return.
Any plant hire company must confirm their ability to attend site and respond to any breakdown or incident within 2 hours of CORMAC Solutions Ltd making the request. Attendance must be on site within 2 hours due to tidal working and the increased potential of harm to the marine environment.
This project has been part-financed by grant funding from the European Regional Development Fund, and Wren, and will be subject to conditions imposed by the funding bodies. Suppliers/Contractors will be expected to comply with the relevant requirements and any associated regulations such as procurement, publicity, and eligibility criteria.
