Description

ARB was established by Parliament in 1997 to regulate the architects' profession in the UK. We are an independent, public interest body and our work in regulating architects ensures that good standards within the profession are consistently maintained for the benefit of the public and architects alike. Under the provisions of the Architects Act 1997 only those on the Register of Architects can legally use the title 'architect' in business or practice in the UK.

ARB is looking to engage individuals or practices in Scotland to provide advice and execution of investigative work in relation to allegations of unacceptable professional conduct or serious professional incompetence following referral of cases to a Professional Conduct Committee (PCC) hearing. In addition to PCC work, ARB also expects the successful individual or practice to provide legal services in support of the criminal prosecution of those misusing the title 'architect' in contravention of the Architects Act.
Applicants must:
• Be a solicitor or barrister;
• Have previously acted for a professional regulator;
• Have experience of submitting reports to the Procurator Fiscal

The contract is estimated at a potential annual value of £15,000 and the successful applicant will be appointed for an initial four year period.

The closing date for completed applications is 30 August 2019
