Description
The Department of Geography at Durham is one of the leading centres of geographical research and education in the world. We have been ranked in the top 10 for 7 consecutive years in the QS World University Rankings by Subject (2019). The laboratories within the Department of Geography contain an extensive suite of analytical and geotechnical instruments which are overseen and supported by a team of dedicated technical staff. Our laboratories facilitate world class research and are used extensively in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
Our current ion chromatography system is greater than 13 years old and is becoming increasingly difficult to maintain and repair. In order to continue to provide research level analysis, this system requires replacing (Lot 1). In anticipation of future directions of research, we also seek to purchase a mass spectrometer (Lot 2) that links to this new ion chromatography system.
