Description

This Invitation to Tender (ITT) aims to produce two modules to support the teaching of Functional Skills maths and English, one for each subject. The key purpose is to ensure that both new teachers of these subjects and those already teaching, but possibly recently transferred from other areas, are conversant with effective practice and have the confidence to teach learners with skills below Level 2 in maths and English, and support their achievement. The modules are not intended to support the personal maths or English skills of teachers, rather the pedagogy of these subjects at this level. Practitioners wishing to undertake these modules, as part of a Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training (DET) qualification or as CPD, will be required to demonstrate level 3 process skills and personal skills through a qualification or initial assessment.
