Description

Derby City Council is part of the new Derby and Derbyshire Safeguarding Children Partnership (DDSCP) being implemented on 29/09/2019. The DDSCP will provide safeguarding children training across Derby and Derbyshire. To achieve this, the new partnership required an online booking and learning platform. The online booking and learning platform will permit staff from different agencies to choose and book courses; access training materials for courses; access and complete online learning packages; complete evaluations of the training and its impact as a pre requisite to receipt of a certificate confirming the completion of professional development. The online booking and learning platform is the method by which around 5000 staff per annum will book their training with additional staff accessing online learning.

The online booking and learning platform will provide effective publication of the training programme and processing of applications for courses by the DDSCP business team including the allocation of places for courses, monitoring take up on individual courses, and confirmation of place allocation direct to applicants (and as necessary changes to dates/availability to participants booked on courses). The platform will permit appropriate retention of data held on courses applicants.

The online booking and learning platform will provide a technical solution to enable to development of online learning courses by the DDSCP team for delivery of remote learning to a multi-agency audience of learners on a range of topics.

The online booking and learning platform will provide the opportunity for management analysis of take up and attendance of staff at an individual level and organisational level against expected "pathways" that set out the requirements for staff to complete safeguarding training relevant to their role and responsibilities. There will also be management analysis of the effectiveness of training including take up by staff, content and delivery of individual courses and the impact on practice.

The online booking and learning platform will provide a method by which agencies can complete required audit pro-forma and management analysis can be completed on the submitted data to produce audits of safeguarding arrangements across different sectors.
