Military Research & Technology. In the coming months, Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S) plan to continue development of the Generic Vehicle Architecture (GVA). The Land Technical Authority within DE&S, supported by the GVA Technical Working Group (TWG), provides an opportunity for MoD and Industry to work together to identify, explore and provide potential solutions for current issues surrounding GVA. The aim of this is to provide coherence whilst driving out known issues surrounding integration, interoperability and openness amongst others. The GVA TWG will focus on developing appropriate, or utilising current, industry standards for the management of systems deployed onto the Vehicle and the overall physical architecture of the Vehicle. The services are to include, but not be limited to, power and data from the perspectives of intra Vehicle, from Vehicle to platform and from Vehicle to wider formation. DE&S is aware that there are a large number of potential members for this working group.
Accordingly, we invite you to contact us (on the contact details provided) for the selection questionnaire and the Terms of Reference.
Membership of the TWGs is quorate at six members. Participants from Industry will be selected by achieving the highest scores following evaluation of the evidence submitted by each applicant in response to the questionnaire. Details of the evaluation marking process are included in the questionnaire. No payment is made for attendance and/or any tasks undertaken into support of TWG workstreams. Attendees are expected to be willing and able to constructively contribute to the discussions and workstreams undertaken. Representation will be limited to be a maximum of two individuals from each supplier. Non-attendance at 3 consecutive meetings will result in membership of the TWG being cancelled.)
