Description
Supply and Installation of Dipole Laser at 1064 NM to the University of Birmingham
The Quantum Technology Innovation Hub (QTIH) at the University of Birmingham is part of the Quantum Hub for Sensors and Metrology. We are looking for 3 dipole lasers for creating the optical dipole trap of strontium.
• Target operation wavelength of 1 μm to 1.5 μm. All specifications will be referenced at the wavelength unless otherwise specified.
• Fiber laser will operate in continuous wave (cw) mode. Laser should be a fully automatic system ready to operate with a push of button or mouse click and enabling 24/7 operation which should be noise free without affecting any nearby device.
• Output power greater than or equal to 15 watts.
• Spectral width less than 20 kHz.
• Noise of 0.02% RMS or better between 100 Hz and 10 MHz.
• Long term power stability of ±2% or better.
• TEM00 output with an M2 of 1.1 or better (closer to 1).
• Output polarization either horizontal or vertical with an extinction ratio of 50:1 or better.
• Physical dimensions of the laser head could be approximately 50cm x 45 cm x 15cm (l x w x h).
• The laser should have full computer software support.
• Computer control should have an easy integration with labview and python based programming languages.
Overall budget for this item is up to £78,000 excluding VAT.
