Description

***THIS PIN NOTICE IS TO NOTIFY SUPPLIERS OF A POTENTIAL UPCOMING REQUIREMENT THAT WILL BE ADVERTISED USING THE CCS RM3824 HEAT NETWORKS AND ELECTRICITY GENERATION ASSETS DPS, PLEASE SEE THE LOT AND FILTER OPTIONS BELOW THAT WILL APPLY TO THIS OPPOTUNITY***

Lot - Lot 1: Energy Advisory, Design & Technical Services - (Advisory)

Filters; Energy storage and demand side response (DSR); Technology, Science and Energy Modelling; Project value = £1-1,000,000.000

This potential opportunity will request modelling on the role of medium-to-long duration (ranging from above 4 hours to interseasonal) electricity storage within a Net Zero system.

The work will be expected to model the potential need and associated system benefits of deploying varying amounts and types of medium-long duration electricity storage (including but not limited to: Pumped Hydro, Compressed Air, Liquid Air, Flow Batteries, Power-to-X) in the energy system in order to help meet Net Zero at lowest cost. It should consider the full range of benefits that this technology can provide: storage over longer periods of time, system stability services and alleviating network constraints. It will consider the need for and impacts of this technology in the system at different points in time e.g. 2025, 2030, 2035, 2040, 2045, 2050. It will also consider how medium-long duration storage interacts with other technologies in the system (e.g. the impact on other generating technologies, shorter duration flexibility and on electrolysis to produce hydrogen)
