Description

Nottinghamshire and City of Nottingham Fire Authority are working towards a new Fire Station at Worksop to replace the existing Fire Station.

The existing Worksop Fire Station is located on Eastgate, Worksop, Nottingham, SQ80 1QS; built in 1963, the main fire station building is a two storey CLASP (Consortium of Local Authorities Special Programme) construction. Having a flat, felt covered roof, the main building is clad with a vertical tile and the single storey buildings with pre-cast concrete panels.

Worksop is an operational three bay, two pump station, with additional outbuildings to house specialist vehicles and equipment. The station has one whole time and one On-Call section fire appliances. The building layout was altered in 2007 with some modifications undertaken (installation of changing pods and locker room)

The project is to take place on the Vesuvius Site Sandy Lane Worksop and will include the design and construction phases. Worksop Fire Station is a Whole-time Duty System (WDS) and On-call station operating two pumping fire appliances. In addition, a specialist vehicle is garaged within the 3rd appliance bay. The new station would have three appliance bays with ancillary facilities. A planning application for the new fire station is due to be submitted in January 2020 and a decision is expected in April 2021.

It is planned that construction on site will commence in June 2021
