Description
Kent County Council (the Council) is the largest county council in England covering an area of 3,500 square kilometres. It has an annual expenditure of over £900m on goods and services and a population of 1.3m. The Council provides a wide range of personal and strategic services on behalf of its residents, operating in partnership with 12 district councils and 305 parish/town councils. The Council is responsible for maintaining over 8700km of carriageways and 6300km of footways across the County.
The current HTMC expires on the 30 April 2026, the authority is invited interested parties to form as part of its market engagement. It is expected that this will commence towards the end of 2023.
The current contract delivers highways maintenance and related services within the boundaries of Kent in accordance with the Scope. The scope of the Services includes:
1. Routine Maintenance (carriageway, footway, structure repairs)
2. Winter Service
3. Emergency and Out of Hours Response;
4. Drainage, Gulley Emptying and Repairs;
5. Signs, Lines and Barriers Maintenance
6. Highways Improvement Schemes
7. Professional Services to support the other services within the scope of the Contract;
8. Highway surface treatment and smaller patching / small resurfacing works (excluding annual programmed resurfacing)
