Description

The City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council (the "Council") manages around 18,000 highway trees, 267 hectares of park trees and 590 hectares of woodland trees, providing a high quality "urban forest" to support the Council's objectives of a healthier, caring, more prosperous and sustainable Bradford District Trees in parks, woodlands, highway verges and green space create an attractive and sustainable place where people can live, visit and invest. Trees not only look good, they provide many benefits including habitat for insects, bats and birds, shading from summer sun and shelter from winds, storage of carbon, interception of rain and removal of dust and grime. Without trees the district would be a poorer and less attractive place. The aim of this Framework Agreement is to provide arboriculture services covering, but not limited to: • Pruning and Associated Works • Dismantling • Felling • Stump Removal/Grinding & Treatment • Planting • Emergency Call-Out Provision • Grounds Maintenance • Any other works of a similar nature The Service will be achieved through a Framework Agreement for: The appointment of up to 5 suitably qualified Providers (for each Lot) to provide an arboriculture service across the Council. The Framework Agreement will be divided into two Lots: Lot 1 - Standard Arboricultural Service Lot 2 - Emergency Arboricultural Service Lot 3 - Grounds Maintenance Call Off Contracts will be awarded for each Lot. The successful Bidders will be required to undertake all the activities (by Lot) within the scope and coverage of the Framework Agreement. There is no guarantee of any work under this Framework Agreement and Providers will only be paid for work agreed and completed via a Work Order. Some work will have special requirements e.g. use of a Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (MEWP).
