Description

Following this market engagement, Solihull MBC is looking to procure building control services from a provider who is enthusiastic to deliver this service in the Borough. The provider will be expected to plan, develop and deliver all of the functions.

There are two primary strands of work to the service:

A. Statutory fee earning work
The Building Regulations process generally forms two stages:
1) Application/design
2) Site inspection process undertaken on a risk assessment

B. Statutory non-fee earning
1) Regularising work
2) Dangerous structures
3) Contraventions
4) Safety at sports grounds
5) Administrative functions
6) Planning liaison
7) General enquiries

Solihull Council seeks to ensure that relevant providers are aware of the opportunity to help shape the service model. These documents seek to do this as part of the market testing process.

The current service provider's contract is due to expire in 2018 and, as part of the consultation, we want to engage with providers to understand the possibilities on the type of service model which might be best placed to deliver this service moving forward. These consultation sessions will be on a 1:1 basis with information provided being treated as confidential.

All this information will be used to inform the future model for the Building Control Service delivery.

In order for you to access the market engagement information pack and express interest in participating in this process you will need to login / register to our electronic tendering system CSW-JETS (Coventry, Solihull and Warwickshire's Joint E-Tendering System). Similarly, in order for you to tender for the model of service we adopt following this market enagagement you must register on the system. To do this, go to www.csw-jets.co.uk and then click the 'register here / sign in' button. Once you are logged in you will be able to locate this project - SOL - Building Control Service (Market Engagement).

CSW-JETS is the new sub-regional e-tendering portal run by In-tend, and is used by the following authorities:

• Coventry City Council
• Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council
• Warwickshire County Council
• Nuneaton & Bedworth Borough Council
• Rugby Borough Council
• Solihull Community Housing
• North Warwickshire Borough Council
• Warwick District Council
• Stratford-on-Avon District Council

CSW-JETS enables us to advertise our opportunities across all authorities through the same system. This means that there is a single point of contact for procurement in the sub-region so you only have to register once to receive notifications for all authorities. Registering on the portal will make it easier for local suppliers to find, respond to and be alerted to tender opportunities.

Registration is free and takes just a few minutes. When complete, you will be able to express interest in any of the Authorities' opportunities when they are made available (supplier guidance is attached to assist you with this). In addition, we will be able to access your details whenever we have a requirement, and you may then be invited to tender or quote for work so please ensure you correctly select the applicable classification code to ensure you receive relevant notifications.
