Description

University Hospitals Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a suitably experienced provider who is able to provide specialist courier service in compliance with Crown Commercial Services framework RM3799, specifically in connection with LOT 1: Class 6.2 Infectious Substances (Category A and Category B), Non-Infectious Substances, Biological Substances, Blood and Tissue.
UHMBT would like to commission a secure courier service to transport category B Pathology samples to UN3373 standards from sexual health clinics in Essex to the Blood Sciences laboratory at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary.
Samples must be collected from multiple clinics in Essex each evening at appropriate times from Monday to Saturday for delivery to Lancaster by 07:00 the next morning, Tuesday to Sunday. Deliveries will be required on bank holidays.
Samples will be collected from unmanned secure SampleSafe boxes and designated manned sites in Essex. Some collections will be time critical.
All sample packages must be tracked and temperature controlled during transport. The courier service would be expected to provide specimen transport boxes which comply with the relevant Transport Regulations.
Additionally we will require a courier service to transport bulk consumables from Lancaster to each of four hub sites in Essex at least four times each year.
