Description
The London Borough of Newham is seeking to appoint a Provider that is able to provide Community Bereavement Care Service to support bereaved individuals, anticipating grief reactions and providing a variety of interventions to minimise the degree to which these effects impact on their life, health and relationships - enabling them to adapt, adjust and cope with life without the person who has died.
The Service will help support people with their grief, to minimise the negative effect it has on them. The service will also provide support to those bereaved as a result of Covid-19 offering Early Bereavement Support as well as Bereavement Counselling and Long term Trauma Support.
The Provider shall deliver 5 elements:
Element One: One-to-One (1:1) Bereavement Counselling
Element Two: Peer Support
Element Three: Early Bereavement Support (EBS)
Element Four: Long term Trauma Support (LTS)
Element Five: Specialist Bereavement support to customers with Learning Disabilities and/or Autism
The outcomes to be delivered by the Service are:
1. Customers are better informed about practical issues related to their bereavement as a result of accessing the advice and guidance service.
2. Customers have improved mental health and emotional wellbeing as a result of accessing counselling.
3. Customers have reduced feelings of isolation and loneliness as a result of accessing the peer support service.
4. Customers report they are better adjusted, adapted and better able to cope with life after accessing the Service.
