Description

Quantity Surveying services for the RIBA Stage 3 to end of the St Paul's External Lighting project.

Project Objectives
- Create a flexible new lighting scheme that highlights the architecture of the Cathedral to create a character, image and identity after-dark that is fit for the 21st century;
- Replace the current lighting equipment which is approaching the end of its life with a new more effective and efficient system that aligns to the current IET regulations, and meets the criteria of the City's Lighting Strategy, creating a highly attractive night-time appearance for the cathedral;
- Deliver annual savings of approximately 50% of running costs (electrical and maintenance);
- Reduce light pollution and energy use in line with the Corporation's commitment to sustainability and contribute towards achieving its net zero carbon emission by 2040;
- Improve the quality of the evening environment in the local area and reinforce the views of St. Paul's Cathedral across London as a whole; and
- Facilitate the readiness of the Cathedral for forthcoming events of national and global importance.
