Description
CENTRICA DISTRIBUTED ENERGY & POWER (DE&P) CORNWALL LOCAL ENERGY MARKET PROJECT
No. LEM006c - Combined Heat and Power (CHP) Installation Provider - Pre-Qualification Questionnaire
Overview: Centrica plc's Cornwall Local Energy Market Programme has a requirement for a suitably experienced, capable and proven EPC contractor that will undertake all necessary components of a CHP project from systems design through to commissioning and certification. It is anticipated that there will be between two and five sites for CHP Systems and associated boiler refurbishment works in Cornwall that will be realised through this procurement process. Each CHP system will comprise one or more natural gas fuelled, reciprocating engine CHP units, ranging from 35 kWe up to a possible 2.5 MWe.
Centrica plc's Cornwall Local Energy Market Programme (LEM) is an EU funded pioneering initiative involving the development of a virtual marketplace. The trial provides participants (homes and businesses) with a platform to buy and sell energy and flexibility to both the supply networks and the wholesale energy market.
The £19M, three-year trial is being delivered in partnership with the local distribution network operator Western Power Distribution, alongside National Grid, University of Exeter, Imperial College London and other partners. It is being funded by Centrica and the British Gas Energy for Tomorrow Fund alongside a £13M grant from the European Regional Development Fund.
