Description
NHS Rotherham Clinical Commissioning Group (RCCG) in collaboration with Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council (RMBC) wish to engage with the market for Integrated Community Equipment and Wheelchair Services. The commissioning collaborative will be undertaking a market engagement event/ exercise for the purpose of finalising the service specification, assessing market capacity and informing the procurement strategy.
The Commissioners are looking to secure Community Equipment and Integrated Wheelchair services for our population (in the region of 260,000). New services will commence from 01/11/2018.
The procurement will be a single lot, combining the Community Equipment and Wheelchair Services.
The Community Equipment Service
The primary aim of the service is the loan of equipment, categorised as health and social equipment, including 'daily living aids', to promote independence for service users who have been assessed by relevant health and/or social care practitioners. This includes urgent requests that require a response within 48 hours.
The equipment service will have procedures in place to enable the urgent delivery of equipment when needed and will provide all necessary repair and routine/emergency maintenance.
Wheelchair Assessment and Provision
The primary aim of the wheelchair service is to meet the needs of service users with restricted mobility, through timely, high quality specialist assessment of needs, and the prescribing and provision of appropriate wheelchairs (including specialist), seating systems, and associated equipment, including any necessary repair and routine maintenance. It is anticipated the wheelchair service will operate a voucher scheme.
Details of the Event
The market engagement event will comprise of an overview presentation and interactive sessions to better understand the views of the market. Organisations will be able to discuss and share their experiences of the services, best practice and scope for innovation. Commissioners would value the views of potential providers at this stage to help shape the future approach to ensure that Community Equipment and Wheelchair services meet the requirements and needs of service users and referrers.
The event will take place on 19/03/2018 from 14:30 - 16:30 at
