Description

The City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council (the "Council") is is one of the largest Metropolitan Councils in the country and covers a wide geographic area including the towns of Bingley, Ilkley, Keighley and Shipley. The Council is responsible for a number of services which benefit people living in the Bradford district. These services include social care, education, housing, highways, planning, environmental protection, libraries, street cleaning, waste collections and swimming pools. Bradford Council has two Waste Transfer stations (one in Bradford and one in Keighley), and 8 household waste recycling centres (four in Bradford and four in Keighley) which employ approximately 70 people. Some of these are people who have worked in this area for a number of years and who have attained the required professional qualifications but will require the regular refresher training and a few are new starters who need to start working towards attaining the professional standard qualifications. Whilst staff turnover is low it is anticipated that there will be some new staff during the period of this contract.

The Contract is expected to be for 24 months with 3 possible extensions each of 12 months. Contract extension will be at the discretion of the Council.
