Description

Calderdale Council is looking to appoint suitably qualified and experienced individuals or organisations, to support the Council to develop a Local Area Energy Plan for the Borough of Calderdale, and to identify priority projects to progress to implementation.

Calderdale has set a target of becoming net zero by 2038, with significant progress by 2030. This target is shared by all other councils in West Yorkshire and by West Yorkshire Combined Authority itself.

This work will underpin the Council's climate emergency response, act as a framework for investment decisions, inform planning and policy, and will involve community engagement and collaboration with key stakeholders.

The main aim of this work is to establish a fully costed and spatial plan that identifies preferred combination of technological and system changes that can be made to the local energy system and built environment; to decarbonise heat and local transport and, to realise opportunities for local renewable energy production.
