The CCGs/ SSOPT, as detailed above, intend to commission a Non-Emergency Patient Transport Service. The aim of this service is to provide a high quality care service for eligible patients with a genuine medical need from a place of residence to Primary, Community and Acute settings.
The Commissioners are currently considering their options for commissioning non-emergency patient transport services across their localities. As part of this, they have embarked on a process to allow them to decide on the most appropriate route to identify a provider (or providers) most capable of securing the needs of service users, and of improving their quality and the efficiency with which they are delivered. Possible routes may include commissioning a service with a single provider for Staffordshire, or dividing the service into geographical LOTS. It is expected that this service will be procured using an open procedure.
The Commissioners would like to invite any providers who might be interested in hearing about the Commissioners' collective service delivery model.
In order to set out their vision and strategic priorities, the CCGs will be holding an information and engagement day on Monday 25th January 2016 between 10.30am and 12.00pm at Stoke on Trent CCG, Herbert Minton Building, 79 London Road, Stoke, Stoke on Trent, ST4 7PZ.
The CCGs/SSOTP very much looks forward to welcoming providers to the event. If you are interested in attending, please respond by email to Elaine Butler (elaine.butler2@nhs.net), setting out the name of your organisation, the names of those individuals whom you would propose attend, and a contact email address and telephone number. Please note that restriction on capacity at the venue necessitates the need to restrict numbers attending to two per organisation, with a maximum attendee capacity of 25. We therefore ask you to register your interest early, in order to be assured places. The closing date is Friday 22nd January 2016.
