Introduction
The Workers' Educational Association is seeking Tenders for the provision of an External Audit function to undertake a number of specific audits each year.
Specification of Requirements
Tenderers are to be from suitably qualified and experienced registered auditors with a high degree of charity education auditing experience, for the function of external audit to include (but not limited to) the following:-
o Demonstrating extensive experience of the following:
- Both the Charity SORP and HE/FE SORP
- Audit work in the Adult Education Sector
- Audit work with a charity similar to the WEA recognising both the sensitivity and demands of working with voluntary organisations
- VAT and tax advice and assistance, both within England and Scotland
o Attend Audit and Risk Committee and Trustees' meetings
o Providing advice and support to the WEA on accounting issues, SORP and charity regulations
o Provide coverage throughout England and Scotland
