Description
Personal Budgeting Support is offered to all Universal Credit Full Service claimants when they transition to UC. This is to support claimants to manage their monthly payments and prioritise essential bills such as rent/utilities. Cambridge City Council and South Cambridgeshire District Council are seeking to appoint a suitable contractor to provide this service for an initial period of 24 months.
A successful bid to the Sharing Prosperity Fund approved a two year outreach project to provide up to 5 hours per day, 5 days per week resource in Cambridge Jobcentre Plus offices to support new and existing claimants, resident in Cambridge or South Cambridgeshire, to Universal Credit in particular with personal budgeting support.
This will include ensuring that they have claimed the correct benefits, supported to claim advance payments or direct payments and understand how this impacts on their household budgets. The Contractor will need to refer clients to experts who will be able to take on individual cases of advanced debt assistance, for instance Debt Relief Orders etc.
