Description

This project aims to build our evidence base by assessing and quantifying the potential water resource benefits (and other multiple benefits) of installing Nature-based Solutions (NBS) measures across four catchments with differing geology. The project is focused on Chalk catchments as Chalk streams currently have a high priority for action as part of the catchment-based approach to water resources sustainability. This is predominantly a desk-based and numerical model study, although future work may progress to trialling measures in targeted catchments.

The products of this work will be new groundwater recharge models which will help us to quantify the water resource benefits of installing Nature-Based Solutions across a chalk catchment.
