District Environmental Officer/ Food Safety x 2

Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking to appoint a District Environmental Officer/ Food Safety x 2.

To carry out the duties of an Environmental Health Officer / Food Safety Officer in a function in which you are competent. *Only an applicant with an Environmental Health qualification and registered with the Environmental Health Registration Board shall be known as a District Environmental Health Officer. Persons with other qualifications to be given a title appropriate to their role. To plan and implement a schedule of inspections, investigations or regulated organisations Plan a visit to a regulated organisation Carryout a visit plan To identify the need for improved risk control in regulated organisations Assess the quality of hazard identification in a regulated organisation Assess the quality of risk assessment in a regulated organisation Identify specific needs for improved risk control To promote and support the improvement of risk control in regulated organisations Specify targets for improved risk control Provide advice on methods to improve risk control To secure compliance with legislation Secure compliance by education, discussion and persuasion To promote and develop awareness of Environmental Health issues Raise Environmental Health awareness during inspections and investigations Deliver lectures and campaigns to develop Environmental Health awareness To establish and maintain productive working relationships Establish and maintain productive working relationships with colleagues Establish and maintain productive working relationships with contacts external to the organisation To seek, evaluate and organise information for action Obtain and evaluate information to aid decision making Record and store information To exchange information to solve problems and make decisions Lead meetings and group discussions to solve problems and make decisions Contribute to discussions to solve problems and make decisions Advise and inform others

Essential requirements:

Undertaking a programme of food safety inspections, investigating service requests and infectious diseases, including all associated administrative and enforcement work.

Hours: 37 hours

Start date: ASAP

End date: 3 months from start date

Rate of Pay: £15.36 per hour (PAYE)
