Description

Following Ely Museum CIO being awarded a Second Round National Lottery Heritage Fund grant, the Museum are seeking to appoint a Building Contractor via a restrictive traditional procurement route.

In summary, the scheme includes the internal structural remodelling/ repairs/ refurbishment of the Listed Old Gaol building and existing single storey extension together with the alteration works to the single storey extension to form a two storey structure that will incorporate a new passenger lift to provide access to the upper floor the Old Gaol. Existing services throughout the building will be replaced with new installations.

The Exhibition Fit-out contract to the gallery spaces will be a separate contract and will take place following the completion of the construction contract.

It is intended to use a JCT Standard Intermediate Building Contract 2016

Gleeds Cost Management Limited have been appointed by Ely Museum CIO to provide Cost Management Services covering the delivery phase of the Unlocking the Potential of the Old Gaol project.

The purpose of this Contract Notice is to seek expressions of interests from building contractors with relevant previous experience to the project via the completion of a Pre-qualification Questionnaire that will be assessed to determine a tender short list of 4 to 5 contractors who will be invited to submit a tender.
