Description

Design and Engineering is the Division of the BBC responsible for delivering digital experiences to the audience. Part of the digital portfolio includes a range of audience facing native (iOS and Android) mobile and hybrid applications. Design and Engineering is seeking to establish a short list of preferred suppliers for the provision of mobile development services, and associated services, to support their engineering efforts. The benefits sought in going to market are: • Development of a specialised, focussed capability • Building deep expertise with the BBC Mobile Application Platform (MAP) and MAP component suite • Driving alignment on mobile application build and architecture approach • Driving development of modular, functional, capabilities by augmenting and extending the Mobile Application Platform and in turn, greater utility and reuse across the BBC mobile technology estate.
