Description

The Council is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Supplier to produce an interim engineering design to include a landscape character assessment and footfall study to connect Corby with Wellingborough through the Ise Valley for cyclists and walkers.

An interim engineering design is required to develop the network between Corby and Wellingborough, and to investigate links into the existing the Greenway.

The route will be the subject of a landscape and character assessment to analyse and describe potential impacts based on projected visitor numbers, topographic and sensitivity study, and how natural materials can be used. It will produce a feasibility and design options report recommending solutions for leisure and commuter access.

The study will specifically take place between Wellingborough and Corby, via Kettering, following the River Ise where possible.

The scope of the work will involve:
Preliminary meetings with North Northamptonshire Council, River Nene Regional Park and stakeholders including preparatory work and information sharing;
An interim engineering design, which will scope a minimum of one (1) route to include landscape and character assessment, analysing potential impacts based on projected visitor numbers, topographic and sensitivity study, and use of materials; and
Production of a design options report recommending solutions for leisure and commuter access.

This contract must be concluded by no later than Wednesday, 15th June 2022.
