Description

2405/465/CW/CYMRU/19 Polymer Powder Bed Fusion 3D Printer

The University of Sheffield wishes to invite tenders for a Polymer Powder Bed Fusion 3D Printer on behalf of the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre, Wales.

Scope of Requirement
The new AMRC Wales facility located in NE Wales and has a requirement to be able to rapidly produce prototypes of designs for examination and has identified that 3D Printing is the best method of achieving this criteria. We are looking to purchase an advanced polymer 3D printer to enhance the capability of our centre and gain knowledge which we can pass onto our customers, partners and local SME's in rapid prototyping, advanced manufacturing and 3D printing. The contract will cover the consumables of the printer for a 4 year period, however there are no guaranteed volumes of purchase.

The machine is required to meet a high demand, provide scope for expansion in the future, and also demonstrate how the technology can replace some traditional equipment. The machine will be used to provide 3D printed components to support research and development projects being carried out at the AMRC Wales facility (AMRC/Cymru, Chester Road, Bretton, Flintshire, CH4 ODH).
