Vessel location for repair: Leith Docks Berth TBC

One of the luffing cylinder lower bearings is seized. Contractors are invited to provide a tender submission to replace all the components as highlighted in Annex No1. of the Drawings
These components are to be replaced on both luffing cylinder lower bearings.
1.The crane will be secured in its jib rest for the repair, shown Drawing No2.
2.Scaffolding will be required for access Ref Drawing No2 for proposal and Drawing No3 for dimensions of crane housing.
3.Support the Luffing cylinders. A proposal for which is given on Drawing No1 however it is the Contractors responsibility of ensuring the safety of the operation and that the cylinders are fully supported.
4.Remove the seize pin, NLB believe that this will have to be burned or gouged out. Any attempts at jacking out the pin may prove time consuming and unsuccessful.
5.New bearing/pin and components to be fitted as per the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer)'s recommendations.
6.Repeat of steps 3-5 as noted above for replacing the components on the non seized pin. Note this pin should be possible to be jacked out without hot work.)
