Description

Mini Tender for the supply of a Skidsteer to the University of Birmingham.

REFERENCE: SC6938/18

The University of Birmingham is constructing a brand new state-of-the-art National Buried Infrastructure Facility (NBIF) - an experimental research facility for the investigation of Buried Infrastructure, expected completion early 2019. The ?27.6M NBIF is part of the ?217M UK Collaboratorium for Research on Infrastructure and Cities (UKCRIC) that will form a co-ordinated set of interlinked national laboratories. The primary purpose of the Skidsteer (Large and Mini) is to load or unload soils / sands / aggregate from the conveyor belts. A conveyor belt system may also be used to stack materials into the silos.
1. To operate externally in all weathers and low levels of light.
2. To load the conveyor belt system that feeds material into the facility.
3. To load the conveyor belt system that feeds materials into the silos.
4. To collect materials dumped off the conveyor belts.
5. To collect material from the silos.

The anticipated overall budget for this item (including accessories) is approximately ?30k excluding VAT.
