Description

The objective of the study is to provide the underpinning analysis to support a re-fresh of the UK's trade policy approach in both Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. In order to achieve this the study will need to take a holistic view at UK-Bangladesh and UK-Sri Lanka trade and investment. It will need to illuminate the sectors in which there a comparative advantage for the UK and vice versa, also identifying those sectors where there is complementarity. Once these sectors have been identified, the second part of the study will require a sector by sector analysis of the barriers to UK companies in these sectors; identifying the barriers (be they regulatory, tariff, or institutional) and identifying approaches to removing them in order to drive UK trade.
