Description
The council is looking to commission a provider who will seek innovation in the development and delivery of a community based women's reproductive health care provision providing Long Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC). Clinics will be aligned within each area council boundary/integrated wellbeing team (6 area councils). Appointments will be bookable via a centralised system offering appointments at a time and place appropriate to meet the needs of their clients/patients. The service location sites will provide clinics operating during working hours Monday -Friday (excluding bank holidays) with some flexibility for an evening and Saturday provision to meet service user needs. There will be more available service and a focus on more deprived areas due to the correlation with teenage pregnancy and termination. This will help to ensure women can access contraception at a time and place convenient to them, whilst targeting our most at-risk groups. The service will be delivered across the borough in areas identified as having contraception and sexual health needs, areas of high deprivation, high STI and teenage pregnancy rates identified in collaboration with commissioners of service. The service will be available for all Barnsley residents irrespective of age, ethnicity and sexuality. All areas will implement measures to promote access to sexual and reproductive health services especially to young people, LGBT and those with disabilities.
