Additional details

This contract is for data on the external job market for comparator Government Science & Engineering roles in academic, industry & the wider public sector. An external pay bench marking exercise is needed in order to provide evidence and data on specialist scientists & engineers outside of government.
STA justification: The expertise of the supplier is specific in this particular case.
Korn Ferry hold a significantly larger database of pay data covering more science & engineering roles in more sectors (industry, wider public sector, academic) that our work needs, than other suppliers. If we were to select an alternative supplier, we would need to work with them to build up and enhance the quantity of data they hold before they can even begin the data analysis that we are looking for. This would take considerably longer and mean a significantly higher price and not present the best value to the department.
