Description
As part of the EODIP programme the Authority and JNCC are seeking to further develop the automated provision of intermediate EO data products which contribute to multiple environmental applications across the Authority, and that are likely to have application more widely across the public sector.
The aim of this ITT is to refine user requirements for two product types, Normalised Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), Normalised Difference Water Index (NDWI), develop open source means of automating these from analysis ready Sentinel 2 data, and to deliver products for the 2016/17 financial year needed across EODIP applications.
The goal is to provide a simple EO derived product set that can be used in a range of simple classification and change detection applications using existing analytical and Geographical Information (GI) capabilities without the need for specialist EO processing knowledge, broadening the impact of EO quickly. The project also aims to establish and cost the scale and complexity of production to inform consideration of models for longer term provision, as well as providing recommendation regarding other products that would meet requirements across Defra.
