Description
This project aims to provide the GB rail industry with guidance and evidence on suitable low adhesion driving policies, to enable a more consistent and effective approach on traction and braking under low adhesion conditions, facilitating an improvement in safe performance.
The project shall identify how drivers can make best use of available on-train equipment, producing separate guidance and evidence for:
•Train Operating Companies (TOCs)
•Freight Operating Companies (FOCs)
•On-track machine (OTM) operators
To support the above, the project shall also evaluate the intended and actual use of existing in-cab low adhesion warning lights, to propose the ideal driver and vehicle response, helping inform appropriate driving policies
