Description

The cleaning of the exterior stone masonry. The conservation of stonework using lime method techniques, pinning and indent repairs. Redecoration of rainwater goods. The replacement of acrylic glazing within the traceried sections of the window stonework with glass set within lead cames. Internal secondary double glazing to 4 windows.

The contracting authority considers this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenders will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement and the contract will be awarded on the basis of the most economically advantageous tender. The Contractor must be CITB registered or ICON accredited, have experience of working on historic buildings listed on the Historic England database The National Heritage List for England and must have extensive and recent experience in the conservation of historic public buildings and particularly of traditional glazing techniques, historic masonry and the use of naturally slaked lime mortars and experience in the use of best practice stone cleaning techniques on historic limestone masonry.
