Description

Public Health England require the provision of a new -20°C freezer for its Vaccine Evaluation Unit (VEU) to be used by the Multiplex Section for the storage of reagents for the Multiplex assays performed in this laboratory. The new freezer is intended to replace an ageing catering freezer currently approaching the end of life that is exhibiting reduced performance and reliability issues.

The -20°C freezer will be used for the storage of reagents for assays performed by the VEU Multiplex Section, for example antigens, conjugates, PS/PLLs , freeze dried products and temperature sensitive chemicals. The freezer will also provide contingency storage space in the event of breakdown of any of the other existing -20°C freezers in the VEU.
