Description
Devon County Council is seeking to engage an individual specialist Licensing Solution Provider who can offer expert advice, best value and competitive prices for the supply of software, as well as associated Software Asset Management services.
DCC will use this agreement to procure software for use by the following, but not limited to:
a) Devon County Council
b) Schools and Academies (via Scomis*)
c) Partners or joint venture organisations where DCC is a key stakeholder (where applicable).
*Scomis (a wholly traded service that is part of DCC) and is a leading specialist in school support services, working with over 810 schools and MATS across England in 53 local authorities.
Devon County Council (DCC) currently run Windows 10 Enterprise and are predominantly a Microsoft-based organisation. DCC are looking to move to a Microsoft Managed Desktop over the next few years.
Our server infrastructure comprises Microsoft Windows Server with System Centre Configuration Manager, VMWare, Oracle, AIX and Linux environments.
While our infrastructure is primarily Microsoft, we do purchase third-party software where necessary. DCC would favour electronic delivery of media and license information where possible, suitable for deployment via our current and future MMD environments.
DCC will be in the second year of both a Microsoft Enterprise Subscription Agreement and an Open Value Subscription (OVS) agreement, which between them covers user and infrastructure licensing.
Any new software requirements would need to consider Software as a Service (SaaS), off-premise and on-premise solutions as a pre-requisite.
