Description

This notice is not a request for expressions of interest so please do not apply to be invited to tender. This notice advises that the Authority has decided to negotiate a contract with the named supplier on a single source basis, and is published for reasons of transparency. If you are interested in becoming a sub-contractor for this requirement, you should apply directly to the supplier named above.

The Ministry of Defence (the Authority), intends to award a contract to NSAF Ltd, for ,The Repair, Remanufacture and Maintenance of Chain Gun Control Units and Associated Assemblies for a period of 7 years. The estimated total contract value is not to exceed £900,000.

In accordance with regulation 4 of the Defence and Security Public Contracts (Amendment) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019 (SI 2019/697) this procurement falls to be regulated under the provisions of the Defence and Security Public Contracts Regulations 2011 as amended (in particular by SI 2019/697 and SI2020/1450). Prior publication of a contract notice in the Official Journal of the European Union is no longer appropriate.

It is considered that the award of the contract without prior publication of a contract notice in the UK enotification service (as required by the relevant legislation) is lawful in accordance with Regulation16(1)(a)(ii) of the DSPCR 2011 for technical reasons.

Babcock Land Defence Limited acting as agent to the UK Ministry of Defence ("the Authority") has under consideration a 7 year Framework Agreement, for the Repair, Remanufacture and Maintenance of Chain Gun Control Units and Associated Assemblies currently in service in the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD). These include but are not limited to
Babcock Land Defence Ltd reserve the right to add further items of a similar nature to the contract post award.
Babcock Land Defence Ltd intends to award a single supplier framework agreement for the items detailed within the Contract Notice.
The successful contractor(s) will be required to repair, remanufacture and maintain Articles to OEM specifications with an accompanying Certificate of Conformance
detailing results of any applicable output tests. The successful contractor will be required to supply all spares/components necessary to undertake the repair/remanufacture process.
Drawings and/or associated specifications are not available to issue as art of any eventual tender.
