Description

The Department of Health is supporting the development of innovative healthcare and diagnostic solutions in response to the Covid-19 virus pandemic. Through technology assessments and agency review, ePCR has been identified as a novel diagnostic capability to enhance diagnostic testing of Covid-19.

ePCR testing may be employed across community testing and surveillance channels and can also serve healthcare providers and individuals. eCPR shows potential to: expand total national test capacity; accelerate test result turnaround; and improve overall test service and delivery.

The requirements for the ePCR software include direct diagnostic result determination (via computational decision support), instrument automation and information handling, and diagnostic reporting and database solutions.

The Software Provider will enable the Department to support and grow effective high-capacity diagnostic testing of Covid-19, and also assist in expanding the national capacity for epidemiologic surveillance and diagnostic management for other established and novel human health risks.
