Description
Following a fire at the factory in late summer 2018, a clean-up and partial demolition operation has been carried out thereby releasing the majority of the factory back to production use. The roof which caught fire has subsequently been demolished and cleared from site leaving an area of approximately150m2 open to the elements and unusable. To carry out a re-roofing project 3 designs have been carried out: 1. A timber "like for like" replacement flat roof, 2. A steel flat roof, 3. A steel pitched roof, The client and insurance assessor would like all 3 options pricing and will then select the most effective design for the end user. The final tender costs submitted will be reviewed by ourselves, the insurance assessor and the client (Stoke on Trent City Council) using a formula based upon 70% price and 30% quality and the best contractor selected. The end user may opt to use an alternative design to the one shown as being cheapest and will bear the difference in cost themselves. This alternative design may also be modified once the "winning" contractor has been chosen and the variation to the original design will then be subject to negotiation. (Should any contractor wish to propose an alternative pitched steel roof design then this may be considered). Ideally, tenders from contractors capable of taking on the complete contract would be preferred, but should contractors wish they could opt to work with other contractors of their own choosing to provide a complete price for 1 or more of the options, in this case please identify partnering contractors within the tender submission
