Description
REMeDY (which stands for Revolution in Energy Market Design) is a project funded by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI). The concept of REMeDY is to design a private energy network comprising generation and supply that integrates power, heating and vehicle charging. The purpose is to benefit Southend residents by providing reliable and responsive sources of locally generated renewable energy that will work out cheaper in the long term and reduce pressure on a constrained power grid. The private energy network solution will be tested (conceptually)by the REMeDY Consortium on a selection of sites that include residential and commercial properties, new build and retrofitted buildings.
Southend-on-Sea Borough Council (SBC) is looking for a subcontractor to be a technical author and facilitator of digital consultations (interactive and informative website and social media communication and education platform) that will lead towards the publication of a report titled:
"A study of how REMeDY will provide low-cost low carbon energy to Southend and how this might be applied to other areas within the UK."
The subcontractor will be expected to:
1. Understand technical reports and feasibility studies. Translate, compile and collate the information into readable sections for the above report.
2. Engage with members, officers, residents and Southend businesses to create a multi-faceted interactive system of how REMeDY will assist in the delivery of Net Carbon Zero for Southend.
