Description

The aim of the study is to give Commissioners an early insight into the initial impact of the National Living Wage. By focusing on a particular sector or a particular size of firm, researchers may be able to provide an initial assessment that will help Commissioners in their deliberation of the path of the National Living Wage. The analysis should cover the impact on wage bills, employment and hours but may also consider the consequences for profitability and productivity as well as the ability of firms to pass costs on to customers in the form of higher prices or lower quality.
